Katsaros Legendary Ouzo 70cl


This is an age restricted product for persons aged 18 and over.

Ouzo 100% of distillation 40% volume. The copper boiler (capacity of 1000 liters) are filled with alcohol of drink making, water, 17 carefully selected fragrant seeds and herbs such as anise seeds, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. These ingredients are then distilled. During the distillation we remove the first and last parts and we keep the heart, which is then diluted with the addition of water and sugar giving us Ouzo of the highest quality. This final product, a pure distillate, without any addition of ethylalcohol, is then filtered and placed in stainless steel tanks for about 2 weeks, in order to assimilate the entire mixture. The Ouzo is then filtered once again before being bottled automatically in glass bottles, which are placed in carton boxes ready for distribution. It should be noted that the Government Chemistry Laboratory

supervises each distillation that is performed.

KATSAROS DISTILLERY is now located in a privately owned area of 6000 sq. m. where technology coexists in harmony with the history and tradition. Our ancestor Nikolaos Katsaros having gained a copper still from relatives began to unlock the secrets of distillation in an innovative way, resulting in today’s “national drink” of our country known to all as Ouzo Tirnavou.

The great dowry of Nikolaos Katsaros passed from generation to generation by working incessantly on the recipe for so many years with love and care in all stages of production, thus celebrating the special place of origin of our fine spirits, Tirnavos Thessaly.

Our location home is anything but random because in no other region of Thessaly, the vines are not cultivated as much as in Tirnavos . In 1856 about 160 years ago, when Tirnavos was considered an industrial center and center of scholar thinking, Nikolaos Katsaros our great-grandfather was the one who invented and created the wonderful spirit Ouzo. (Thessalian Chronicles 1935). Since then with the secrets of four generations we still distill Ouzo using the same original recipe.

Our factory today are equipped with handmade copper stills, Inox tanks of latest technology, a fully automated bottling line, and a production line which is able to produce 2000 bottles per hour, offering high quality spirits that makes us both personal and national proud.

It is worth mentioning that our first exports (around 1930 in the early 20th century) were in Marseille, France, Egypt and in the USA. Today, we distribute in Australia, Canada, USA, England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Cyprus, Iraq, Japan, Scotland, Congo, South Korea, Hong Kong, and we have recently reached an agreement to sell our products in China and Russia.
