Description

Tsikoudia or raki is the traditional spirit drink of Crete and one of the most famous greek spirits! It is an eau-de-vie made from grape pomace that is used for making wine.

Patsakis Distillery’s raki is smooth and bursting with sweet flavors and aromas reminiscent of the grapes used in distillation. It is served as an aperitif but also as a digestive at the end of the meal. It accompanies mezes from greek cuisine such as octopus with vinegar, kalamarakia tiganita, greek olives, rusks with tomatoes and cucumbers, dakos salad or cheese for example.

Remember: you should never drink raki alone as it is synonymous with friendliness in Crete!

In 1991 Michalis Patsakis was the first to legally bottle Cretan raki, one of the most famous Greek alcoholic beverages. Since then, the Patsakis family has been the driving force behind the traditional Cretan tsikoudia known as a refined and delicious distillate, using local raw materials.
