Vouni Panayia Microvinification-“Woman In The Wine Press” 2017 75cl

£43.99

This is an age restricted product for persons aged 18 and over.
Description

Pale lemon green colour and bright acidity. Elegant bouquet of apricot, peach and some herbal notes with a finely textured and crispy finish. Goes well with grilled or baked fish and light pastas.

Morokanela ‘The Woman in the Old Wine Press’ is another fairly unusual and little seen native white variety. It possesses heavily palmated five-lobed leaves (no good for dolmades) that are fluffy on their underside. The associated wine showed a fragrant, stone-fruited and peach kernel character that finished with a lemony zip so typical of this grape. This variety has a bright future, particularly for those seeking a wine with charm, drinkability and food-friendliness.

What is micro-vinification? Simply, Microvinification is a winemaking technique used often for experimental batches of wine where the wine is fermented in small, specialized vats. Microvinification allows a viticulturist to express the most natural, unaltered characteristics of a single terroir, or vineyard block. The geologic composition of certain vineyard soils is particularly fascinating. We are referring to Vouni Panayia Appellation and the trials of the Kyriakides family with micro vinification.
