Region: Amyndeon, North Greece.
Tasting Characteristics: Bright rose colour, on the nose aromas of spring flowers with sweet notes of red fruit with strawberry dominating. In the mouth it is light, elegant, with a balanced acidity which gives an impressive freshness while in the finish hints of wild strawberry and tomato emerge.
AMYNTAS WINERY
The Amyntaion plateau is a special place. In one of the coldest regions in Greece, at an elevation of over 600 metres (2,000 feet), surrounded by high mountains and graced with four lakes this terroir is exceptional for vine cultivation. In this unique land the Amyntas Winery is making history for over 65 years. The only PDO in Greece for rosé sparkling wines, certified back in 1972, the region also produces still reds and rosés with elegant complexity due to the unique character of the Xinomavro grown in Amyntaion.
